I wrote my first book after years of working in education and seeing the ripple effect of both having self-confidence and lack thereof. I taught middle school and high school students, and I have been a community college advisor for years. I saw the same patterns over and over again, whether the student was 13 or 63.
Age, money, brains, support, skills…none of it seemed to make as much of an impact on success as self-confidence. I don’t mean ego, or false confidence, but the genuine belief in yourself.
I also discovered that it is a skill that can be developed, not something you are born with, or a state that you are stuck in. I watched people grow, and build confidence, and flourish. And I wanted to share, so I wrote a book:
I geared the book toward young adults, but I have had so many adults, even elders, who have read the book and got something truly meaningful out of it.
