Inside The Hodgepodge House

The inside is an artsy hodgepodge, too. 🙂

When we first visited the house, we saw the fireplace, in all its plain whiteness, and said almost simultaneously, “that’s a tree.”

So, I painted a sky on the ceiling, and made a tree in the living room…

We got a set of kettles as a present, and the handles were shaped in a way that didn’t allow for easy hanging. I took that as an opportunity to make a space door in the kitchen. The obvious next right step!

I welded brackets to hold the lids in place out of old kitchen tools and scrap metal, then painted corresponding planets for easier placement. Pluto will always be a planet to us, and if you look at the very bottom of the door, you will see our little planet with a heart representing.

Mosaiced Mason Jar Lights…questionable electrical skills…
