Welcome! The Hodgepodge House is an indie publishing house, a work of art, a haven for whimsy … and an actual house.

For those of you that read this far down…
You can’t tell by looking at this sign, but the original, which is underneath the yellow writing, was made up of all discarded, found objects. Old nuts and bolts, some beads, a piece of ribbon, unusual pebbles, and so on. I love the idea of things that seem to have lost their purpose being given a new one, especially through acts of creativity. The sign was my first expression of that to the world, or at least to my block. But when I stepped just a foot or two back, it was completely unreadable! Was it delightful? Yes. Did I have to paint over it with something functional? Also yes. Check around the site for where the whimsey wins…
